The old-Nice area is a very special place. A historic centre with its baroque palaces and churches, narrow alleys bordered by buildings with colourful facades. But it is also a tourist place, where it is good to stroll, to shop, to lunch, and to cultivate thanks to the different museums and historical monuments. In short, the past and the present come together to the greatest pleasure of the visitors.

Le Marché du cours Saleya
Rue Saint François de Paule - After a breakfast on the terrace, go to the market Saleya in the old Nice, where you will have the opportunity to soak up the ambiance niçoise and local colors. There are fruits and vegetables from the region, flowers, as well as the specialties of the country such as olive oil, spices, tapenade, Anchoïade, la socca, and many others. The market is held every day except on Mondays when the antique dealers market takes place. We like the dynamic atmosphere, it's swarming with people! We hear even the oldest discuss in Nissart, the local dialect.

The Promenade des Anglais
Nice has an international image! The famous promenade was originally only a two-meter-wide trail. An Englishman, the Reverend Lewis Way, had the current Promenade built at his own expense in 1820. It was immediately baptized by the local people the "way of the English". In its final form, two pavements separated by a land full of palm trees, the "Prom" was inaugurated in 1931 by the Duke of Connaught, one of the sons of Queen Victoria. |
